چکیده
The type of muscle action is important when designing exercise interventions for older individuals and may result in different effects. In this study we performed a systematic review controlled trials comparing the effects concentric eccentric resistance training, on isokinetic dynamometers, lower extremity muscular functional performance adults (CDR42017075316). Six databases (Pubmed, CINAHL, SPORTDiscus, PEDro, Cochrane Central Embase) were searched. Outcomes interest concerned neuromuscular performance. Trials should consider 65 years or participating and/or training at least twice week, during four weeks. Results be compared to control group between contraction types. A qualitative analysis data was done. Quality assessment considered Risk Bias Tool. initial search returned 10376 studies inclusion. Three with ones groups, one training. All focused knee extensor flexor muscles , also ankle dorsiflexors plantarflexors. Training programs included three sessions/week lasting 8-12 Concentric improved strength, power, antagonist coactivation control. isometric, strength self-paced step test, no effect gait speed. They did not structural parameters. findings beneficial power consistent. However, there lack addressing structure functionality.

Effects of isokinetic strength training on concentric and eccentric torque development in the ankle dorsiflexors of older adults.
This study quantifies concentric and eccentric dorsiflexor muscle torque at various movement velocities and determines the neuromuscular effects from short-term practice of repeated maximal voluntary contractions using an isokinetic resisted exercise program in older adults. Twenty-eight subjects (76.3+/-4.6 years) trained concentric and eccentric dorsiflexion 3 days per week for 2 weeks at 30 ...

Evaluation of The Acute Hormonal Responses To Concentric, Eccentric And Concentric_ Eccentric Muscle Actions in Healthy Young Men Introduction: Resistance exercise is a potent stimulus for acute increase in the concentrations of circulating hormones such as Growth Hormone (GH) and Testosterone. Conventional resistance exercise is performed using sequential concentric (CON) and eccentric (EC...
متن کاملEffects of Concentric and Eccentric Strength Training on Electromyography Activity of the Knee Agonist –Antagonist Muscle
Purpose: An appropriate activity of the knee agonist -antagonist muscles is important to resist against abnormal abduction-adduction moments loads around knee joint and reduce the risk of knee injuries. Exercise training has been commonly used as an intervention to improve neuromuscular activity within the synergic and/or agonist-antagonist muscles. However, maximizing the effectiveness of exer...
متن کاملResponses to eccentric and concentric resistance training in females and males.
The adaptive responses to 12 weeks of accommodated resistance training were compared in females (n = 11) and males (n = 11). They performed four to five sets of six maximum bilateral coupled concentric and eccentric quadriceps muscle actions at 1.05 rad s-1 three times per week. Uni- and bilateral concentric and eccentric peak torque at different angular velocities (0.52, 1.57 and 2.62 rad s-1)...
متن کاملArchitectural, functional and molecular responses to concentric and eccentric loading in human skeletal muscle.
AIM We investigated architectural, functional and molecular responses of human skeletal muscle to concentric (CON) or eccentric (ECC) resistance training (RT). METHODS Twelve young males performed 10 weeks of concentric (CON) or eccentric (ECC) resistance training (RT) (n = 6 CON, 6 ECC). An additional 14 males were recruited to evaluate acute muscle fascicle behaviour and molecular signallin...
